Men’s and women’s tennis teams recognized off the court

ORANGE, Calif. – Both the Chapman men's and women's tennis teams earned recognition for their work inside the classroom earlier this month. Both teams were named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team after posting team grade point averages of 3.20 or above.

Five men's student-athletes went above and beyond and earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status this season. Seniors Igor Belineli, Brock DeHaven and Elliot Gardner were joined by junior Len Kamemoto and sophomore Troy Manditch on the prestigious list after posting a grade point average of 3.50 or above in the 2018-19 calendar school year.

Six women joined the men as ITA Scholar Athletes, including the 2018 SCIAC Newcomer of the Year Alisa Ogranovich. The sophomore was joined by fellow classmates Anna Kaplan, Naomi Lee, Madison Ross and Vasilisa Trofimova as well as junior Nikki Purewal.

This is the fifth consecutive year the women earned recognition as an ITA All-Academic Team and the second year that Ogranovich, Kaplan, Lee, Ross and Trofimova earned the distinction. This is DeHaven's fourth consecutive ITA Scholar Athlete Award after a stellar four years in the classroom.
