Men's tennis earns ITA academic awards

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University men's tennis team and five individual players earned academic recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Panthers earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award for the second year in a row.

In order to earn the team award, the ITA sets the bar at a 3.2 team GPA. The Panthers put together a 3.36 team GPA this year with five student-athletes leading the way with GPAs over 3.5 to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

Senior Len Kamemoto, Junior Quinten Arrizza, sophomore Luke Bennett and freshmen Josh Blinder and Caleb Wilkins each earned the annual academic award with outstanding GPAs for 2019-20.

While the Panthers had a successful year in the classroom, they also had a promising start to the 2020 dual season. Chapman was 2-1 before the shutdown and defeated Cal Lutheran to start the SCIAC season 1-0.
