Every team over a 3.2, 270 recognized as SCIAC All-Academic

The SCIAC recognized 270 Chapman University student-athletes on its annual All-Academic list. Collectively, Panther student-athletes raised the bar for academic achievement as every team achieved a 3.2 team GPA or better.

Nine individuals, both teams earn ITA academic honors

Both the men’s and women’s Chapman University tennis teams were recognized for outstanding academic achievement by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Additionally, four student-athletes off the men’s team and five off the women’s team earned individual recognition.

Wilkins ends season with All-American honors

After a career year that ended in the second round of the NCAA Division III Individual Championships, Caleb Wilkins earned All-America recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Wilkins is the first Panther since 2009 to earn the award.

Six Panthers honored as Academic All-District

Six more Panthers, representing three teams, earned Academic All-District VIII honors from the College Sports Communicators. The softball team had three honorees along with two from men’s tennis and one from women’s tennis.

Wilkins earns bid to NCAA Individual Championships

Caleb Wilkins will compete at the NCAA Division III Individual Men’s Tennis Championships, becoming the first Panther to receive a bid to the national tournament since 2009.

Wilkins earns third All-SCIAC award, most in program history

For the third time in his career, Caleb Wilkins has been selected to the All-SCIAC First Team. Wilins earned the honor following standout seasons in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and is the first Chapman player to earn the award three times.

Men's tennis falls 5-4 in season finale

The seniors nearly led the Chapman University men’s tennis team to a season-ending victory but the Panthers fell 5-4 to visiting Colorado College.

Men's tennis snaps skid with win over Cal Lutheran

April 12, 2023

The Chapman University men’s tennis team broke its skid with a 7-2 win over Cal Lutheran to improve to 3-2 in the SCIAC standings. The Panthers pulled into a three-way tie for third with two matches remaining in the regular season.

Men's tennis falls 6-3 to Caltech

A tough SCIAC schedule continued on Saturday as the Chapman University men’s tennis team fell 6-3 to Caltech. The Panthers took the top doubles and singles matches but dropped their seventh consecutive match.

In a match that went down to the wire, the Chapman University men’s tennis team fell 5-4 to visiting Grinnell. Early morning rain changed the start time to 4 p.m. alongside the women’s match.

Hays, Marsh notch come-from-behind victories in loss

March 23, 2023

Tommy Hays and Danny Marsh were bright spots on the cloudy day in Orange, winning in come-from-behind fashion in their singles matches. Hays dropped the first set 6-2, but went on to win the second 7-6 and the tie breaker set 10-4. Marsh lost his first set 6-4 then pulled off a 7-6 and 11-9 victories.
