Chapman takes three of four at Claremont Convergence

CLAREMONT, Calif. – After losing its first game of the Claremont Convergence Tournament over the weekend, the Chapman University men's water polo team rebounded, winning its final three matches of the tournament. The Panthers were led by the solid play of senior driver Chase Parlee who had 14 goals in four games.

On Friday, Chapman (8-8) dropped its first match of the weekend 10-6 to Johns Hopkins University, the third-ranked team in Division III. Later that afternoon, Chapman defeated George Washington University 12-10. Chapman never trailed against George Washington jumping out to a 4-3 lead in the first quarter and building from there. Both Parlee and freshman 2M Brett Carter had three goals for Chapman against George Washington while sophomore goalie Taylor Roszkos had 13 saves.

Chapman added wins over Fresno Pacific University and Iona College on Saturday. Against Fresno Pacific, Parlee had five goals in the 11-8 win. Junior goalie Randy Rosales started both games for Chapman on the second day of the tournament and had 15 saves in the win over Fresno Pacific.
