Five members of the Chapman University men’s water polo team have earned All-Academic awards for the 2010 season, according to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). In addition, the team finished with the 16th highest grade-point average in the nation with a combined mark of 2.997.

In three previous appearances at the Western Water Polo Association Men’s Championships, the Chapman University men’s water polo team has come up winless. That all changed on Sunday as Chapman defeated Whittier College 13-12 in sudden-death overtime on a goal by senior utility Dominic Tornambe to capture ninth place and the school’s first-ever WWPA postseason victory.
