Asalone earns second SCIAC weekly award

ORANGE, Calif. – Sophomore Graham Asalone helped lead the Chapman University men's water polo team to a 1-1 record in SCIAC play this week, earning Offensive Athlete of the Week honors.

Asalone scored five goals and tallied four assists in an offense-heavy 23-20 win over Occidental on Wednesday evening. He also added two earned ejections in the effort.

The Carlsbad native scored another five goals on Saturday morning, this time in a hard-fought 10-9 loss at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Asalone also tallied two earned ejections and two steals in the close match.

The sophomore helped the Panthers improve to 5-5 in SCIAC play and the Panthers sit tied for fourth place in the conference standings with just four matches left to play.
