Bio

Suzy Brazney joined the Chapman coaching staff in 2017.  She brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience at the collegiate and international levels.

Brazney recently retired from Golden West College after 30 years; 18 of those as the head coach.  She has also coached for USA Softball at varying levels.  She has been an assistant coach on multiple USA Jr. National teams that went on to win gold medals at the Jr. World Championships and Junior Pan American Games.  She also served as an assistant with the USA National Team’s gold medal teams at the Japan Cup and a Pan American qualifying tournament.  She continues to be in the coaching pool as USA softball prepares for the upcoming Olympic Games in 2020.

As a player, Brazney was a two-time All-American at Cal Poly Pomona.  She has been inducted into the ASA and the O.C. Softball Hall of Fame as well as Cal Poly Pomona’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
