Toole wraps up regionals with sixth-place finish on 3-meter board

Freshman diver Kellyn Toole wrapped up her first trip to the NCAA Diving Regionals with a sixth-place finish on the 3-meter board. Toole scored a 404.90 on the second day on the regional championships in Grinnell, Iowa.

Freshman diver Kellyn Toole took eighth place on the 1-meter board at the NCAA Region 2 Diving Championships on Friday. She will compete again tomorrow on the 3-meter board.

School records fell, another title was claimed on the diving board and the Chapman University women’s swimming & diving team had its highest finish ever in the 2016 SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships. The women’s team finished strong to take fourth in the team standings while the men finished ninth.

Freshman diver Kellyn Toole became the first Chapman diver to win a SCIAC title with a win on the 1-meter board on day two of the SCIAC swimming & diving championships. Toole’s win propelled the Chapman women’s team into fourth place in the team standings.

The women's 200 medley relay team broke a Chapman record and freshman diver Kellyn Toole is in first place after the first day of the 2016 SCIAC Swimming & Diving Championships in La Mirada, Calif. Both the men’s and women’s teams are in eighth place after the first five events.

The Chapman University swimming and diving program jumped in the pool at the Thompson Aquatic Center on Saturday morning to face off against a pair of SCIAC foes Occidental College and University of Redland. Freshman Kellyn Toole was the bright spot on the day breaking a CU diving record for the second time this season.

Freshman diver Kellyn Toole made an NCAA qualifying mark demolished the previous school record with a 451.12 on the 1-meter board this week at Whittier. Chapman's previous school record was 427.85, set by Kayla Dimicco in 2015. The score came on her first 11-dive event of her career. Toole posted a 252.37 in her first six dives to win the event in the dual meet.

Charles, Broughton honored as SCIAC athletes of the week

The SCIAC honored a pair of Panthers on with Athlete of the Week honors for the second time with season. Junior Megan Charles won her first Female Athlete of the Week Award of the season alongside freshman Connor Broughton, who brought in his first. Charles is the Panthers third women’s basketball player to bring in the honor this season and Broughton is Chapman’s first swimmer to win the award.

Freshman Connor Broughton broke his own school record in the 400 IM to highlight both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams double dual meet with La Verne and Caltech.

Several freshmen were the standout performers of the Chapman University men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams on Saturday. The Panthers took on SCIAC foe Pomona-Pitzer and out-of-conference foe Whitman in a double dual.
