Toole places eighth on 1-meter at NCAA Regionals

GRINNELL, Iowa – Freshman diver Kellyn Toole took eighth place on the 1-meter board at the NCAA Region 2 Diving Championships on Friday. She will compete again tomorrow on the 3-meter board.

Toole posted the highest score of any SCIAC diver with a 393.90 on Friday, placing eighth out of 14 divers. Last weekend, Toole swept the diving titles at the SCIAC Championships, winning on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

Centre's Sarah Hayhurst took first with a score of 447.30 while Trinity's Sarah Kate Mrkonich was second with a 419.00. Both guaranteed trips to the NCAA Championships.

The women's 3-meter competition takes place tomorrow with the event starting at 10 a.m. (PT) from Grinnell.
