Both swimming & diving teams earn academic recognition from CSCAA

ORANGE, Calif. – Both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams at Chapman University were recognized as Scholar All-America teams for the Spring 2017 semester by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America. The CSCAA set a new high with over 700 teams earning the academic recognition.

The Chapman women's team posted a 3.35 GPA last semester to once again earn the honor. It is the sixth consecutive year that the Panthers have earned the honor. The men's team put together a 3.17 team GPA to be recognized for the fourth consecutive year.

In total, 720 teams, representing 443 institutions achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2017 semester.  Part of the reason for the increase in award-winning teams is the overall growth of the sport.  The number of men's and women's institutions sponsoring swimming and diving is at a ten-year high.
