Toole, Rajani honored as CSCAA Scholar All-America

NORFOLK, Va. – A pair of Panther divers were recognized by the Collegiate Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America as Scholar All-America Honorable Mention. Junior Kellyn Toole and freshman Simran Rajani each earned the academic and athletic distinction.

Every spring, the CSCAA recognizes a Scholar All-America team for those student-athletes who competed at their respective national championship meet and achieve a 3.5 GPA. Honorable Mention goes to swimmers who achieved a "B" time standard or qualified for a regional diving meet along with a 3.5 GPA.

Toole and Rajani each qualified for the NCAA Region 2 Diving Championships in 2018. It was Toole's third consecutive trip and her best career finish. She was also the SCIAC champion on the 3-meter diving board in 2018 while finishing second on the 1-meter board. Rajani placed in the top-6 at her first SCIAC Championship meet on both boards.

Both women have equally as impressive marks in the classroom as on the diving board. Toole owns a 3.8 cumulative GPA through her three years on campus and Rajani posted a 3.67 GPA in her first year. Toole has earned the CSCAA Scholar All-America distinction for the third year in a row.

The CSCAA honored a record number of student-athletes on the annual Scholar All-America team with 1,069 swimmers and diver earning First Team honors and another 1,137 earning Honorable Mention.
