Leu wins pentathlon, awarded SCIAC Swimmer of the Week
ORANGE, Calif. – Freshman Brandon Leu was dubbed the No. 1 male swimmer at the Bulldog Pentathlon on Saturday, Oct. 20, earning SCIAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.
The rookie placed in the top-6 in each of the five races, including No. 1 finishes in three events. Leu finished with a total time of 4:36.29, claiming the top spot while finishing three seconds before the nearest competitor.
The Issaquah, Wash. native took first place in the 100 fly with a time of 52.67. He then took first place in the next event, finishing the 100 back at 54.90. Leu took sixth place in the 100 back with a time of 1:04.84, followed by a second place finish in the 100 free. He ended the pentathlon with a first place finish in the 100 IM with a time of 54.97.
The Panthers head to Thousand Oaks, Calif. on Saturday, Oct. 27 to compete in the Cal Lutheran Sprint Mete.
