Swim & dive teams sweep La Verne in 2023 return

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University swimming & diving teams returned to the pool for the first meet of 2023 with both the men's and women's teams earning wins over La Verne. The women's team won every event in the dual meet.

The Panthers' depth keyed the team victories for both the men and women but Chapman swimmers also finished first or second in every event as the women's team won 206-21 and the men's team won 164-64.

Meghan Kluck was one of two Chapman women's swimmers to win an event and place second in another to aid in the dominant effort. Kluck won the 100 breast while taking second in the 50 free. Summer Solomon was the winner in the 100 fly and took second in the 1000 free.

The Panthers also dominated on the diving boards as Mina Cannon won on the 1-meter board with a 201.80 and Gracie-Ann Fraunfelder won on the 3-meter with a 204.30. Reid Omilian sweptboth diving competitions for the men.

In total, 11 different Panthers on the women's team won an event in the 13-event sweep. Six Panthers on the men's team combined to win seven events as both the men's and women's teams also swept the relay events.

Gavin Geffros led the way for the men's team swimmers as he took first in the 200 IM and second in the 100 breast.
