More strong performances at Rossi Relays
CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Chapman University men's and women's track and field team saw some more outstanding performances at the Rossi Relays last weekend in Claremont, Calif.
Freshman Cortney Justus provided a highlight on the women's side, winning her heat in the 100-meter hurdles. She ran a 16.66, dropping nearly half a second from her time in last week's season-opener. She finished 23rd overall.
Sophomore Mitchell Bouldin continued his hot start to the season with a new PR of 11.11 in the 100-meter dash. Bouldin PR'd last week and continued to drop time this week, finishing tenth overall. He also placed seventh in the long jump with a leap of 6.45 meters (21-feet, 2-inches).
Freshman thrower Cedric Cole had a pair of top-20 finishes in the shot put and the discus. He recorded a PR in the shot put with a throw of 11.19 meters (36-feet, 8.5-inches). He took 18th in the discus with a toss of 37.82 meters (124-feet, 1-inch), which was also a personal-best in Cole's young career.
The Panthers leap into their SCIAC schedule next week with the first of three SCIAC Multi-Duals. Chapman will be the host of the meet at Occidental College.
