Panthers look strong at SCIAC No.1

OCCIDENTAL, Calif. – The Chapman University men's and women's track and field displayed many strong performances in SCIAC Multi-Dual No.1 at Occidental College on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Mitchell Bouldin earned a career-best and firs place in the men's long jump with a final mark of 6.62 meters. Bouldin also continued to shave time off of his personal best in the 100, placing fifth overall with a final time of 11.09. Junior Ethan Weinstein finished close behind in the 100, rounding out the top-10 at 11.55 seconds.

Senior Sam Baker paced the Panthers in the 800, earning a third place finish with a final mark of 1:59.38 just second behind first-place Claremont sprinter Evan Molineux.

 On the women's side, freshman Josie Chan placed second in the triple jump with a personal best of 10.69 meters, just .03 meters behind Micaela Krumweide from La Verne.

Senior Lauren Deats paced the Panthers in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. Deats earned seventh in the 100 with a final time of 13.31 and eighth in the 200 at 26.94 seconds for season best times.

Freshman Mia Hernandez was the top finisher for Chapman in the 800 run with a final time of 2:31.84. While Nika Cokas paced placed seventh in the 1500 with a final time of 5:12.67.

Leading the Panthers in the 100 meter hurdles, was freshman Courtney Justus who crossed the line at 16.77. Justus also finished the long jump with a personal best of 4.46 meters.

Chapman will travel to Redlands, Calif for SCIAC Multi-Duals #2 on Saturday, April 2.
