Several PR’s set in SCIAC No. 2 for Panthers

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Chapman University men's and women's track and field team set several personal bests and demonstrated many strong performances at the SCIAC Multi-Dual No. 2 at University of Redlands on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Mitchell Bouldin set personal-best in his fourth straight race. The junior took first in the men's long jump with a final mark of 6.80 meters, edging the competition by .2 meters. Bouldin also improved to 10.96 seconds in the 100 meter dash to secure fourth-place.

Freshman Philip Bui paced the Panthers in the 800 meter run with a final time of 2:00.42. Bui finished just .04 second behind Claremont-Mudd-Scripp's first-place Joshua Sealand.

Freshman Cole Cedric set a personal-best in the men's shot put with a final mark of 11.53 meters, improving from 10.87 meters which he set at the Pomona-Pitzer Invite.

One the women's side, freshman Courtney Justus edged the competition in the long jump securing her first first-place of the season at 5.40 meters. Justus also set a personal-best in the women's triple jump with a final mark of 10.46 meters.

Finishing third in the women's triple jump, freshman Josie Chan set a personal-best mark of 10.71 meters, just .18 meters behind second place La Verne's Catalina Lee Kim.

Once again, pacing the Panthers in long distance events, junior Cathryne Ramirez finished in the top-10 of the 1500 meter run to set a personal-record of 5:09.36.

Chapman will travel to Claremont for its next meet. The Panthers will toe the line on Saturday, April 9 for the Pomona-Pitzer Invite beginning at 10 a.m.
