Cole, Pasquinelli score to wrap up SCIAC Championships

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Chapman University track & field teams wrapped up the season at the SCIAC Championships at the University of Redlands on Saturday. The Panthers had two more scorers in the field events.

"We performed great this weekend. The conference championship atmosphere was amazing," head coach DeAndra'e Woods stated. "Our athletes did a great job of rising to the occasion. Our future is bright."

Junior Cedric Cole scored for the second day in a row as he placed seventh in the shot put. Cole had a career-best throw of 12.45 meters (40-feet, 10.25-inches) to take seventh after taking sixth in the discus yesterday.

Junior Gina Pasquinelli also placed in the top-8 to highlight the final day of competition. She took eighth in the high jump with a career-best leap of 1.52 meters (4-feet, 11.75 inches). Pasquinelli cleared the height on her final attempt to secure her place in the top-8.

The women's 4x100m relay team put up a season-best time of 52.31 to take eighth in the event. The men's 4x100m also took eighth.

The men's team finished in eighth in the team standings with six points while the women's team took ninth with three points.
