A record number of Chapman student-athletes earn SCIAC All-Academic

July 18, 2022

Chapman University student-athletes set a new school record with 281 individuals earning SCIAC All-Academic recognition. The 281 individuals to earn the annual academic recognition are 22 more than year’s record-breaking number. The SCIAC annually recognizes student-athletes who have been at their institution for at least one academic year and finished the school year with a 3.4 cumulative GPA or better.

Track & field teams earn academic honors

Both Chapman University track & field teams earned academic recognition from the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Both teams were honored as All-Academic teams, joining over-150 men’s and over-150 women’s teams.

Two student-athletes represented the Chapman University track & field teams in the USTFCCCA All-Region team announcement. Sophomores Jesse McMillan and Kayla Almeida earned the honors for the first time in their respective careers.

Sophomore Jesse McMillan became the first track & field athlete from Chapman University to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His historic season ended when he did not clear the first height.

Sophomore Jesse McMillan is set to make Chapman history tomorrow when he takes his spot on the runway for his first pole vault at the NCAA Division III Championships.

Track & Field posts record breaking performance in final day

Track & Field finished up at the SCIAC Championships at Whittier college Sunday, May 1. The Panthers ended the day with the most medal winners in program history in a SCIAC Championship where all nine teams participated in the events.

McMillan, Kremer headline Championships with second place honors

Track & Field competed at the SCIAC Championships at Whittier College on Saturday Apr. 30. The Panthers were headlined by two second place finishes. The first in the men’s pole vault by Jesse McMillan. He reached 4.81 meters on his best vault. The second was Allison Kremer in the women’s 400 meter dash. She won her heat, with the second best overall time, qualifying for tomorrow’s final with a time of 59.22.

Track & Field to compete in SCIAC Championship

The Track & Field team will begin the SCIAC Championship this weekend hosted by Whittier College. The Panthers look to bring a competitive edge with this year’s team breaking a multitude of school records throughout the season.

The Chapman University track & field teams enjoyed a record-setting week at the Bryan Clay Invitational and SCIAC #3. Zoe Zurasky became the Chapman’s fastest women with a record-breaking 100m dash.

Women break two school records, men win big over No. 1 Sagehens

April 02, 2022

A pair of school records were shattered by the women, and the men took down No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer in a dual victory today at the SCIAC #2 meet hosted by Claremont-M-S on Saturday, Apr. 2. The men topped Pomona-Pitzer 82-70 and Cal Lutheran 101-57. The women beat Pomona-Pitzer 74-64, but fell to Cal Lutheran 91-66.

More solid performances for track & field at Titus & Ely Invitational

The Chapman University track & field teams continued the season at the Titus and Ely Invitational with several solid performances. Donovan Wilson took second in both the 200m and 400m dash.

Jesse McMillan broke a school record set in 1964 to lead the Chapman University track & field teams at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Invitational on Saturday.

The Chapman University track & field teams took on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Whittier and La Verne at the first SCIAC Multi-Dual of the season. Anthony Hart had a big personal-best in the steeplechase.
