Bio

Danica Dobosy joined the Chapman staff in October 2019 as an assistant track & field coach focusing on the throwing events. She began coaching at Concordia University Irvine as a graduate assistant for two years. The athletes she coached attained multiple school records at Concordia University in the shot put, weight throw, and hammer throw. She now coaches the discus, shot put, and javelin at Chapman.

As a former student-athlete, Dobosy recognizes the profound influence that athletics can have on students’ lives. She strives to help student-athletes with their goals and enjoys seeing the athletes succeed on and off the track.

Dobosy competed as a shot put, discus, and hammer thrower at Azusa Pacific University and was a three-time PacWest conference champion and record holder in the hammer throw. She also attained the PacWest championship title in the discus. She competed at D-II Nationals in 2015 and 2016 earning first team All-American in the hammer throw her senior year.

Dobosy graduated from APU in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and in 2019 earned a teaching credential at Concordia University Irvine. She has her Track & Field Technical Certification from USTFCCCA. She is also a NASM certified personal trainer.
