More recognition for Takaoka who earns D3Hoops All-Region

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University senior Kimi Takaoka has been named to the D3Hoops.com women's basketball All-West Region team for the 2013-14 season. The shooting guard earned All-Region honors for the second straight year from D3Hoops and becomes the first Panther named to the first team since Melody Bongiorno '04 in 2003-04.

The SCIAC Player of the Year, Takaoka finished the season averaging 20.8 points per game, which led the conference and still ranks in the Division III top-25 in scoring. She became just the second D-III player in school history to average over 20 points and she finished her career ranked third all-time in Chapman history with 1,539 career points.

In addition, the senior has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America (first team) and All-District VIII teams, as well as being named one of 10 national finalists for the Jostens Trophy – recognizing the NCAA Division III women's basketball player who excels on the floor, in the classroom and in the community.

Takaoka helped lead Chapman to its first SCIAC co-championship in school history and in a return trip to the Division III tournament for the first time in three years.
