The Chapman University women’s basketball team got to spend a portion of their summer break in Taiwan experiencing the Chinese culture, battling a typhoon and playing several top collegiate women’s basketball programs from Europe and the Far East.

Fourteen Chapman University winter sports student-athletes have been recognized for their achievement in the classroom by the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference which named its All-Academic teams by sport on Wednesday. Leading the way for the Panthers was women’s swimming and diving with six athletes honored.

The third place Chapman University women's basketball team was well-represented when the All-SCIAC teams were announced Thursday. Senior PG Andrea Villanueva and sophomore G Lauren Sato earned First Team SCIAC All-Conference Women’s Basketball Honors.

Women's hoops earn big win on 'Senior Night'

The Chapman University women’s basketball team concluded its regular season with a big 85-35 victory over Caltech on ‘Senior Night’ Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the Hutton Sports Center. The Panthers (13-12 overall, 9-6) will enter the SCIAC Postseason Tournament on a two-game winning streak as the No. 3-seed.

Villanueva reaches 1,000 career points as Panthers clinch SCIAC berth

Senior PG Andrea Villanueva became the seventh Division III player in Chapman University women’s basketball history to record over 1,000 career points and the Panthers clinched a berth in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament with a 72-57 win over visiting University of La Verne on Saturday afternoon at the Hutton Sports Center.

Panthers climb above .500 with win over Bethesda

A late first-half run by the Chapman University women’s basketball team gave the Panthers the lead for good and they went on to defeat visiting Bethesda University 71-61 in a non-conference game at the Hutton Center on Friday night.

The Chapman University women’s basketball team earned a season sweep over the Poets with an 86-68 victory over Whittier College on Wednesday at the Hutton Sports Center. Saturday’s victory allowed the Panthers to take sole-possession of third-place in SCIAC standings and keep playoff hopes alive.

The Panthers handed visiting Pomona-Pitzer Colleges an 84-50 win at the Hutton Center on Wednesday night and have now won three of their past four games – all in conference play.

The Chapman University women’s basketball team fell to visiting Bethel University (Minn.) 72-49 in a game that ended just before midnight on Tuesday in the Panther-Bulldog Classic finale at the Hutton Sports Center. The Panthers closed out their pre-conference schedule going just 2-5 and will kick off the SCIAC season after the New Year with a pair of road games at Whittier College and Occidental College.
