Fajardo honored as SCIAC Athlete of the Week

ORANGE, Calif. – Sophomore Jaryn Fajardo was selected as the SCIAC's Athlete of the Week for women's basketball. Fajardo has been filling the stat sheet on both ends of the floor over the past two weeks.

The guard from Torrance, Calif., has been doing a little of everything since reentering conference play two weeks ago. She put up a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Panthers to a big comeback win over Cal Lutheran. She was just shy of another double-double in Saturday's loss at Occidental but had a career-high with 21 points to go along with eight rebounds.

Fajardo also averaged four assists per game last week and swiped 4.5 steals per game – both of which led the squad. Her 4.4 assists and 3.8 steals per game through five SCIAC games leads the league with she also averages fourth in scoring and 18th in rebounding.

The Panthers return home for two games this week, starting on Wednesday against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 7 p.m.
