Fajardo earns SCIAC weekly award for second time this season

ORANGE, Calif. – For the second time this season, junior Jaryn Fajardo was selected as the SCIAC Athlete of the Week. She led the Panthers to two more victories this week, helping the squad extend their win streak to 12 games.

The Torrance, Calif. native averaged 14.5 points, six rebounds and seven assists in Chapman's games against Redlands and Cal Lutheran. Fajardo came in clutch in the fourth quarter against Cal Lutheran, scoring nine of her 13 total points to give the Panthers a much-needed push to hold onto the win. She sank five of six free throws down the stretch, lifting Chapman to a 65-61 victory over the Regals.

Fajardo leads the conference with 4.5 assists per game as the Panthers remain the No. 1 team in the SCIAC with a perfect record.
