Fajardo earns second SCIAC honor

ORANGE, Calif. – After another near triple-double from senior Jaryn Fajardo has garnered her second SCIAC Athlete of the Week this season. After earning the defensive award in the opening week, Fajardo has earned the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week.

The guard from Torrance, Calif. averaged 14.5 points, seven rebounds and 7.5 assists last week as the Panthers won both SCIAC games to improve to 5-0 on the season. She was just one rebound and two assists away from a triple-double in the win over Occidental. In the Panthers' big 64-55 win at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, she dished out seven assists without committing a turnover while playing 38 minutes.

Fajardo is the only Division III player in the nation to average over 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists per game this season.

The Panthers continue their early season SCIAC schedule with a trip to Cal Lutheran on Wednesday before hosting Redlands on Saturday.
