Fajardo selected to All-Region First Team

ORANGE, Calif. – She is the SCIAC Athlete of the Year, a Division III All-Star and now an All-Region First Team selection from D3hoops.com. Senior Jaryn Fajardo picked up another award on Monday with the first All-Region nod of her career.

Fajardo led the Panthers in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals this year with 17.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, five assists and 2.7 steals per game. The three-time All-SCIAC selection set career-highs in each category. She ranked in the top-40 in the nation for assists and was in the top-20 with career-highs in free throws made (133) and attempted (177).

A standout on both ends of the floor, Fajardo made history in her last season. She became the first player in Chapman history to score over 1,000 points, grab over 500 rebounds, distribute over 400 assists and swipe over 200 steals in a career. She ranks in the top-5 in Chapman history in every category and is just one of two active Division III players to reach all four milestones.

The 5-foot-5 guard from Torrance, Calif. is the seventh D3hoops.com All-Region selection in Chapman history but the second in as many years following teammate Lucy Criswell's selection last year. She was announced as a Division III All-Star earlier today and will play in the inaugural Division III All-Star Game on Saturday at 2 p.m. (PT).
