Strand named SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week

ORANGE, Calif — Julia Strand was named SCIAC Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week on Nov. 21. 

Strand collected nine steals and three blocks on the week. Her six steals in the Panthers' 57-45 win over reigning SCIAC champ Whittier on Sunday tied her career high. She also tallied all three blocks, tying another career high, against No. 23 Whitman. She added a double-double, with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Whitman. 

Strand and the Panthers return to the hardwood on Friday, Nov. 25 when they travel to Tacoma, Wash. to take on Puget Sound and Lewis & Clark in the PNW.
