Lewis places in top-10 in SCIAC #2

WEST COVINA, Calif. – Sophomore Emily Lewis led the Chapman University women's golf team with a 10th-place finish at SCIAC #2. The Panthers took sixth as a team but shaved two strokes off their team score from day one to day two.

After firing a 11-over 82 on Saturday, Lewis took five strokes off on Saturday for a 77 (+6). She jumped up a few spots on the leaderboard with a two-day total of 159 (+17) to finish in the top-10. She also finished 10 places higher than her place in the SCIAC #1 a few weeks ago.

As a team, the Panthers took sixth after carding a 349 (+65) on day one and 347 (+63) on day two. Freshman Kristy Harada took 20th overall with a two-day score of 166 (+24). She equaled Lewis' first round with an 82 on Saturday and fired an 84 on Sunday.

Freshman Haylie Bantle's two-day score of 181 (+39) gave her the third-lowest score on the team and placed her 33rd overall. Junior Brittany Bilek's 190 (+48) placed her 35th and rounded out Chapman's scoring.

The Panthers will finish out the season Apr. 23-25 at the SCIAC Championship.
