SCIAC All-Academic
Record number of student-athletes achieve academic distinction

June 25, 2018

Chapman University student-athletes raised the bar with a record number of 220 SCIAC All-Academic selections for the 2017-18 school year. This year marks the first time in Chapman’s six-year history in the SCIAC that more than 200 Panthers were included on the All-Academic teams.

Two members of the Chapman University women’s golf team were selected as All-SCIAC members earlier this afternoon. Junior Emily Lewis headlined the honors with a spot on the First Team while freshman Lauren Settle was selected to the Second Team.

Women's golf takes second at SCIAC Championship

In just the second year of program history, the Panthers have risen near the top of the SCIAC with a second-place team finish at the SCIAC Championship. Individually, junior Emily Lewis paced the Panthers with a fourth-place finish.

Women's golf moves up to third at SCIAC Championship

The Chapman University women’s golf team shaved 11 strokes off its team score to move into third place at the SCIAC Championship after two rounds. Three Panthers turned in sub-80 rounds while all six were under 90 on the day.

Junior Emily Lewis  is tied for second and the Chapman University women’s golf team is in fifth after the first round the 2018 SCIAC Golf Championship at Los Serranos Golf Club. The Panthers shot a 35-over 323 to start the three round tournament.

The Chapman University women’s golf team posted its best-ever finish in the program’s brief history with a third-place finish in the SCIAC #2. Junior Emily Lewis took seventh place individually to lead the Panthers.

Women’s golf finishes tied for eighth at Bulldog Invitational

The Chapman University women’s golf team tied for eighth place after competing in the Bulldog Invitational at the Indian Springs Golf Club this past Monday and Tuesday. Junior Marisa Bhanubandh led the Panthers, shooting 160 (+16) after two rounds.

The Chapman University women’s golf team competed against Hope International at the Black Gold Golf Course this past Friday. Junior Emily Lewis led the Panthers with a second place finish.

Lewis finishes top-10 in first SCIAC meet of the season

After two days of competition at the Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino, the Chapman University women’s golf team finished in sixth place out of nine teams at the par-72 course. Junior Emily Lewis led the pack in their first SCIAC meet of the 2018 season, tying for 10th place with a total score of 160 (+16).

The Chapman University women’s golf team competed against Whittier, Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental in its first meet of the spring season. The Panthers finished fourth overall on the par 72 course with a team score of 385 (+97).

With the inaugural season now in the past, the Chapman University women’s golf team looks to quickly build into a contender in the second year of the program. With an expanded roster and positive results from the fall, the Panthers have high hopes to quickly climb the conference standings.

The Chapman University women’s golf team wrapped up its fall season with a fourth-place finish at the Embry-Riddle Co-ed Invitational this week. The second-year program recorded a team score at a 54-hole tournament for the first time in program history.

Women's golf takes second at CA State Intercollegiate

September 19, 2017

Junior Emily Lewis turned in the best scorecard in the short history of Chapman women’s golf to lead the team to a second-place finish at the CA State Intercollegiate. Lewis finished fourth overall and the Panthers finished second among 11 teams in the tournament, including five SCIAC teams.

Golf seasons open with record-breaking rounds

There was no rust or cobwebs to dust off as both Chapman University golf teams opened up the 2017-18 season with their best rounds ever. Both teams used their first round of the year to set new program records at the opening round of the CA State Intercollegiate at Olivas Links.
