Lewis finishes top-10 in first SCIAC meet of the season

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – After two days of competition at the Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino, the Chapman University women's golf team finished in sixth place out of nine teams at the par-72 course. Junior Emily Lewis led the Panthers in their first SCIAC meet of the 2018 season, tying for 10th place with a total score of 160 (+16).

Lewis shot 84 (+12) on the first day of competition but improved significantly on the second day, shooting 76 (+4). Freshman Lauren Settle finished close behind Lewis in 14th place after shooting 78 (+6) on day one and an 83 (+11) on day two for a total score of 161 (+17). Junior Marisa Bhanubandh placed just three spots behind Settle in 17th after shooting 81 (+9) on the first day and 83 (+11) on the second.

Rounding out the Panthers was senior Brittany Bilek and sophomore Alison Lee. Bilek shot 98 (+26) on the first day of competition but improved her score on the second day, shooting 93 (+21) for a total score of 191 (+47). Lee finished the first SCIAC meet with a total score of 215 (+71).

Chapman takes a couple of weeks off but heads back out to the links on Friday, March 16 at 11:30 a.m. to face Hope International.
