Couple of Panthers honored as All-SCIAC

ORANGE, Calif. – Two members of the Chapman University women's golf team were selected as All-SCIAC members earlier this afternoon. Junior Emily Lewis headlined the honors with a spot on the First Team while freshman Lauren Settle was selected to the Second Team.

Lewis earned her second consecutive All-SCIAC honors as she finished in the top-10 in both SCIAC No. 1 and SCIAC No. 2 this season. The Los Alamitos native shot a 160 (+16) in the first SCIAC match and improved to a 154 (+10) in SCIAC No. 2 to earn a seventh place finish. She ended her junior campaign with a career-high fourth place finish in the SCIAC Championships, shooting 227 (+11) to propel the women's team to a second place finish. Lewis averaged a team-high 79.7 (+8) after participating in every competition this year.

In her first season as a Panther, Settle took top-15 finishes in both SCIAC regular season competitions. The rookie shot a 161 (+17) at SCIAC No. 1 to take a 14th place finish and moved up one spot at SCIAC No. 2 after improving by one stroke. After shooting 84 (+12) on the first two days of the SCIAC Championships, the Woodinville, Wash. native shaved four strokes off her score to shoot 80 (+8) on the third and final day. Settle averaged a score of 82.1 (+10.1) after participating in all but one of Chapman's competitions in the 2017-18 season.
