Women's golf opens up spring with dual loss to CMS

SAN DIMAS, Calif. – The Chapman University women's golf team fell to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in its first round of the spring. The Panthers shot a 362 (+74) while the Athenas put together a team score of 309 (+21).

Sophomore Sydnee Dimascio led the Panthers with an 86 (+14) just one stroke ahead of junior Lauren Settle, who was playing in her first competition of the year. Sophomore Kristen Lee shot a 90 to finish 18-over par and freshman Avani Tumuluri closed off the team scoring with a 99 (+27).

The one round competition was a chance for the Panthers to get familiar with the course at Via Verde County Club. Chapman will return to the same course in two weeks to open up the SCIAC schedule at SCIAC #1. SCIAC #1 will be a two-round tournament Feb. 22-23.
