Women's lacrosse earns Academic Honor Squad award

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's lacrosse team was recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association in the top 125 Division III schools as earning IWLCA Academic Honor Squad honors for the 2014 season. The Panthers' collective grade-point average during the 2013-14 school year was 3.25.

Senior goalie Kara Podesta led the team with a 3.95 GPA, earning her degree in May in sociology. Sophomores Shelley LaMotte and Kylee Moore were also amongst the team leaders with GPAs above 3.5. All three student-athletes were announced to the SCIAC Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team this 2014 season.

The IWLCA recognized 254 lacrosse teams around the country, spanning all divisions. Chapman was recognized along-side other SCIAC schools such as Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and Whittier College.
