More recognition for Podesta who earns Academic Honor Roll

ORANGE, Calif. – Chapman University senior Kara Podesta from the Panthers women's lacrosse program received Academic Honor Roll from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the 2013-14 academic year, as announced by the organization Tuesday.

Podesta was among the 363 student-athletes from 126 different institutions named to the 2014 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor roll. The senior goalie led the team with a 3.95 GPA, earning her degree in May in sociology.

In total the IWLCA honors 738 student-athletes from 162 different institutions with inclusion in the 2014 IWLCA Division I, II & III Academic Honor Roll.

All student-athletes were nominated by their schools and have achieved at least junior status academically and had a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. Leading the way was the 2014 IWLCA Division III Scholar-Athlete of the Year Devon Soucier from Wheaton College.

The Chapman University women's lacrosse team was also honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association as a 2014 Academic Honor Squad, along with other SCIAC competitors such as Whittier, Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental College.
