ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Kelsey Mackin scored four goals in the first half to lead the Chapman University women's lacrosse team to a 12-9 victory over Occidental College at Wilson Field on Wednesday night.

Tied 1-1 just three minutes into the contest, Chapman posted a pair of goals less than two minutes apart to take a 3-1 lead at the 24:28 minute mark. The Panthers then went on a 3-0 run, including back-to-back goals by Mackin, to pad their lead 6-2 with 15 minutes left in the first half. However, Occidental fired back with four consecutive goals of their own to tie the contest up at 6-6.

Tied 6-6 with less than eight minutes left in the first half, Mackin repeated her earlier success scoring back-to-back goals to help the Panthers steal back the lead 8-6. Senior Brooke Martini scored an insurance goal for the Panthers with just three minutes left on the clock to help the Panthers secure a three point lead at 9-6 heading into the second half.

The Tigers and Panthers matched goals in the second half with each team scoring three. Junior Gretchen Rodenberger scored two of Chapman's three goals in the second half to help Chapman secure its third conference win.
