Women's lacrosse earns academic recognition

Grand Lake, Colo. – The Chapman University women's lacrosse team garnered both team and academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. The team once again landed on the Academic Honor Squad list with four student-athletes earning a spot on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

As a team, the Panthers put together a 3.33 GPA at the close of the 2017-18 school year to reel in the academic honor for the second year in a row and second time in program history. The IWLCA Academic Honors Squads achieve a team GPA over 3.0 at the end of the school year. The IWLCA recognized 339 collegiate women's lacrosse programs from all three divisions of the NCAA as well as the NAIA.

Juniors Danelle Lucero, Shelby Thompson and Danielle Zahn along with senior Stacey Zuppa earned the individual academic distinction on the Division III Academic Honor Roll. Juniors, seniors and graduate students earn the award with at least a 3.5 GPA. The IWLCA recognized 631 student-athletes from 187 Division III institutions.
