Zahn earns Academic All-District award

ORANGE, Calif. – The awards keep rolling in for senior Chapman women's lacrosse student-athlete Danielle Zahn. The midfielder earned CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District honors earlier this afternoon for her work on the field and in the classroom.

This prestigious award comes after Zahn earned her third consecutive All-SCIAC honor. She is a three-time SCIAC All-Academic team member, holding a perfect 4.00 GPA through all four years at Chapman with a major in Psychology.

The Mission Viejo native's 120 career goals ranks second all-time in program history and her 142 career points ranks fourth all-time. This season, Zahn led the Panthers with a career-high 39 goals. She also picked up 50 ground balls, tallied 81 draw controls and caused 23 turnovers.

Zahn has proved to be one of the best women's lacrosse players to play in Chapman's brief but strong history, rewriting the record books. She broke seven school records in her fourth and final season alone. Zahn holds the Chapman career record with 185 total ground balls and 171 draw controls. She also set the single-season records with 81 draw controls and 22 free-position goals. The veteran also broke three single-game records, including seven goals in one game – which she did twice in a row – eight points in one game and six free-position goals in a single game.
