Four Panthers placed on All-Independent team

ORANGE, Calif. - Four members of the Chapman University women's soccer were named to the Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) 2008 women's soccer All-Independents team on Wednesday. The four Panthers selected marks the highest number of honorees Chapman has had since the team was introduced in 2004.

Freshman F Kate Lilly and senior M Hannah Rogers were named to the second team, while junior F Stephanie Lambrakis and senior D Mia Pierro earned honorable mention. All four players earned the award for the first time in their careers. Chapman was 8-10-1 overall this season.

Lilly led the Panthers with 10 goals and 23 points this season, setting Chapman freshman records in both categories. Meanwhile, Rogers, a senior, provided steady leadership from the midfield and ranked third on the team with seven points (two goals, three assists).

Another graduating senior, Pierro led Chapman in minutes played and helped the Panthers to a 1.83 goals-against average on defense. Pierro also scored two goals, while Lambrakis was Chapman's top playmaker with seven assists and ranked second on the team in goals (five) and total points (17).
