Calderon becomes first in CU women's soccer to 100 wins

WHITTIER, Calif. – The Chapman University women's soccer team shut out host Whittier College 3-0 on Wednesday evening, giving head coach Courtney Calderon her 100th career head coaching victory – all at Chapman. In her 10th season as the Panthers' head coach, Calderon is the first coach in Chapman's women's soccer history to reach the 100-win milestone.

Calderon's overall record now sits at 100-71-12 for a winning percentage of .579 overall. In her previous nine years with the Panthers she has guided the women to five winning seasons and three NCAA tournament appearances as well as a SCIAC Tournament title in 2012.

Chapman (5-3 overall, 2-1 SCIAC) scored three goals in an eight-minute span in the first half and that was all it needed for the milestone win. Junior M Emma Castleton began the scoring with a goal in the 18th minute to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Just four minutes later, freshman M Katie Bell scored her second goal of the season and then four minutes after that, junior M Olivia Do scored to make it 3-0. For Castleton and Do it was their third goals of the season tying them for second on the team.

The Panthers travel to face Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at 4 p.m. before returning home to host Occidental College on Wednesday at Wilson Field at 4 p.m.
