Cochran honored as women’s soccer SCIAC Athlete of the Week

Orange, Calif. – Freshman Bailee Cochran recorded her first multiple goal match of her collegiate career to lead the Chapman University women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over University of La Verne. The victory helped the Panthers clinch the four seed in the SCIAC Tournament.

In the 39th minute, Cochran scored just before halftime to give Chapman the 1-0 edge over the Leopards. She sprinted past her defender and put one touch on the ball past the diving keeper off a long ball pass from senior Emmy Hoskins.

The freshman struck again in the 67th minute as she fired a shot just under the crossbar to add the insurance goal and lift Panthers to the 2-0 victory.

In her rookie season, the Harbor City native has scored three goals and one assist for a total of seven points.
