Holloway leads Panthers to postseason, earns SCIAC award

ORANGE, Calif. – Senior Faith Holloway helped the Panthers secure a spot in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament with a 1-0 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday night, earning SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week.

The captain scored the lone goal of the match while also anchoring the back line to Chapman's 10th shutout of the season. In the 66th minute, Holloway connected with her head on a free kick from fellow senior Stephanie Fox to send the ball into the back of the net and the Panthers into the postseason for the first time since the 2016 season.

The Rocklin native played the entire 90 minutes of her Senior Night match, holding the Athenas to eight shots, three of those on frame.

The Panthers must wait for a match tonight between Cal Lutheran and Occidental before finding out where they will be seeded for the Postseason Tournament. Regardless, Chapman will play on Thursday, Nov. 7 in the semifinal match.
