Bio

Makenna Henry is entering into her first season as the Goalkeeper Coach at Chapman. She has been a keeper coach for the past 10 years and has accumulated five years of collegiate coaching experience as an assistant and goalkeeper coach at Orange Coast College (OCC). Henry also teaches and co-creates curriculum for the Kinesiology and Activities courses at OCC.
 
Henry is a staff member for the Pateadores Girls Development Academy where she successfully fulfills the roles and responsibilities of a head coach, keeper coach and coaching educator within the program. She has been a staff member for the US National Training Center and Olympic Development Program where she co-designed and lead detailed technical and tactical goalkeeper specific training sessions.
 
She has experience playing at the semi-professional (WPSL), NCAA Division I (UCSB), US Youth National team, and Olympic Develop Program levels. She earned Big West All-Conference and academic honors, and was a golden glove recipient and a two-time National Champion in her youth soccer career.
 
She has earned a National D license and continues her journey to attain a National A license. After graduating from UCSB, she earned a Master’s in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Long Beach State. Her experience as a competitive athlete, coach, and student equips her to meet the demands of being a coach within the SCIAC.
