Bio

Josh Johnson joins the Chapman coaching staff for the 2016 season. Johnson's success as a player has translated into a successful coaching career.

His collegiate career began at West Valley College where he earned All-Conference as a striker and was one of the top scorers in the state. He finished out his college career at Chico State, where he was a team captain and helped the Wildcats to a West Regional title and the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Championship.

He moved on to play professionally with the California Gold in the Premier Development League after his college career and also entered the coaching profession.

He began his coaching career at his alma mater when he was hired as an assistant coach after earning his bachelor's degree. He also began his club coaching career with the NorCal Premier Club.

In 2013, Johnson moved to southern California and became an assistant coach at Hope International. During his time at HIU, he completed his master's degree while also coaching with Cal South Elite. 

Johnson has earned a USA Soccer National E License as well as a Florentina International Coaching License. Additionally, he is a Certified Personal Trainer and certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
