Women’s tennis swept by No. 3 Claremont-M-S

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team lost 9-0 to the visiting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps yesterday afternoon.

Nationally-ranked No. 3 Athenas swept the Panthers in Chapman's SCIAC home-opener. The freshman duo of Madison Ross and Anna Kaplan put up a fight in their doubles match despite losing 8-5. The freshman team of Isabella Oedekerk and Alisa Ogranovich and the double pair of junior Nicole Fouts and freshman Vasilisa Trofimova both took their opponents to an 8-3 match.

Ross and Trofimova also played well in their singles matches, with Ross losing 6-0, 6-2 and Trofimova losing 6-2, 6-0.

The Panthers head to UC Irvine next week but return to Lastinger Tennis Center on Tuesday, March 6 at 1 p.m. to face Mary Washington of Virginia.
