Women's tennis drops match to WashU

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team was defeated 7-2 in a hard fought match on Sunday by the Washington University in St. Louis Bears. The Panthers took one point each in singles and doubles.

The Panthers managed their one doubles win behind the freshman duo of Alisa Ogranovich and Jordan Craft. They defeated the Bears' doubles team of freshman Ashley Lessen and senior Lily Schroeder by a score of 8-5.

Chapman's solo singles win came from freshman Anna Kaplan. She played an outstanding set of matches as she won 6-1, 6-1 against senior Kate Lee. Another tightly contested match came from Panthers freshman Vasilisa Trofimova, who fell in her match by winning one of out of three sets by the scores of 6-3, 6-7, 6-0.

The Panthers will be back at the Lastinger Tennis Center on Tuesday, March 13 to face Trinity (Conn.) at 1 p.m.
