Women's tennis pushes win streak to seven

ORANGE, Calif. –The Chapman University women's tennis team won its seventh match in a row with a 6-3 victory over Caltech on Saturday. Freshman Alisa Ogranovich won her eighth singles match in a row to improve to 12-2 on the year.

At the top of the singles lineup, Ogranovich remained undefeated as the Panthers No. 1 player with a 6-1, 7-5 win. Freshmen Isabella Oedekerk and Madison Ross both won three-set matches at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, to help Chapman clinch the team win. Freshman Anna Kaplan breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6.

The 30th-ranked Panthers gained a 2-1 advantage in doubles with wins in the No. 1 match and No. 3 match. Oedekerk and fellow freshman Jordan Craft took the 8-4 win in the top doubles match. Ross and Kaplan teamed up in the No. 3 match for an 8-3 win. Kaplan and Ross are 8-4 on the year while Craft and Oedekerk sport a 6-1 doubles record – all in the top spot.

The Panthers will take their lengthy winning streak on the road to Cal Lutheran on Friday and Redlands on Saturday. They return home on Apr. 14 for their final home match of the year against Pomona-Pitzer at 10 a.m.
