Women's tennis wraps up season at Ojai

OJAI, Calif. – On Saturday senior Nicole Fouts and sophomore Vasilisa Trofimova represented the Chapman University women's tennis team at the Ojai Tournament.

The Panthers competed together in the doubles bracket, advancing three rounds into the competition. The duo started off the tournament with a 6-2, 6-1 win against UCSC, and went on to win their second match in a hard fought game against Willamette, 6-3, 6-7(6), 10-8. The following day, the pair competed against Caltech in the third round of competition, where they fell 2-6, 6-1.

The two competed separately in the singles competition as well. Fouts won her first set against Willamette 7-5, 6-2, but lost in her second match against Caltech 3-6, 1-6.

Trofimova also won her first set, beating her Whittier opponent 6-4, 6-4. In her second match against Southwestern, she fell 2-6, 3-6.

Fouts is ended her final season with a 5-11 singles and 7-9 doubles record, while Trofimova ended her sophomore season with a 4-10 singles and 7-9 doubles record.
