Women's tennis honored with ITA academic awards
ORANGE, Calif. – For the sixth year in a row, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association recognized the Chapman University women's tennis team for its work in the classroom. While the Panthers earned the team award for the sixth year in row, seven Panthers were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The Panthers put together a 3.38 team GPA to be named an ITA All-Academic Team, which honors every collegiate team over a 3.2 team GPA. ITA Scholar-Athletes post GPAs over a 3.5 GPA for the academic year to earn the individual awards.
Senior Raven Hampton was honored as a Scholar-Athlete alongside juniors Vasilisa Trofimova, Anna Maite Kaplan and Madison Ross. Sophomores Clare Driscoll and Tatum Phillips also earned the award while freshman Aliya Allyn started her collegiate career off with the academic recognition.
The spring tennis season was cut short due to COVID-19 but the team continued to excel in the classroom and will return the majority of the roster in 2020-21.
