Both tennis teams earn academic awards from ITA
ORANGE, Calif. – Both Chapman University tennis teams and individuals from both squads were recognized for their respective academic achievements by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In total, nine student-athletes were recognized.
The ITA annually recognizes all NCAA tennis teams with a minimum of a cumulative 3.2 team GPA as All-Academic teams. Individual student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and higher are also recognized as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Josh Blinder and Danny Marsh both achieved the ITA Scholar-Athlete to represent Chapman men's tennis. The Chapman women's team had seven of its 10 players end the year with a 3.5 GPA or better: Liza Antonova, Olivia Desso, Racquel Fhima, Anna Maite Kaplan, Tatum Phillips, Madison Ross and Vasilisa Trofimova.
The 2021 recognition marks the seventh year in a row for the women's team earning the academic award and third year in a row for the men's team.
