Golin, La shine but women's tennis drops dual with Caltech
ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team fell 6-3 to visiting Caltech on Saturday. Goldie La and Alexis Golin combined to score all three points for the Panthers.
La and Golin teamed up in the No. 2 doubles match to take an 8-4 win for Chapman. In singles, La was winning the No. 2 6-3, 1-2 before her opponent was forced to retire. Golin won the No. 3 match in three sets – 6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3).
After earning two doubles points, Caltech took the other four singles matches in straight sets to claim the team victory.
The Panthers fell to 0-2 in SCIAC with the loss and head to Pomona-Pitzer next Friday before hosting CMS on Saturday.
