Women's tennis rolls through Pacific

ORANGE, Calif. – The Chapman University women's tennis team picked up a quick 8-1 victory over visiting Pacific on Saturday. The Panthers swept the doubles the singles matches on the way to the victory.

After taking two of three doubles matches, the Panthers swept through all six singles matches and quickly clinched the team victory. Lucy Erickson and Soleil Zsibrita did not drop a single game in their 6-0, 6-0 respective singles victories. Brooke Waite won 6-0, 6-2 and Ava Tyler won 6-1, 6-0.

On court two, Goldie La was in a tight 6-6 first set but Pacific's Sydnie Binder was forced to retire. Aliya Allyn pulled out a three-set victory on court No. 1 to complete the singles sweep.

The Boxers' lone point came in an 8-3 win in the top doubles match. Zsibrita and Racquel Fhima took the 8-1 win in the No. 2 match. Allyn and Waite cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 3.

The win kicked off the busiest week of the season for Chapman where the Panthers are scheduled to play five matches in six days. Next up, Chapman heads out to Rancho Mirage, Calif. to face off with Wis.-Whitewater in a neutral site match at 1 p.m.
